Week One - Write a summary of the class reading book you looked at last term. What was it called? Who wrote it? What was the basic storyline? What stood out for you as its main themes? Would you recommend it to someone else?

I think that the book in reading "midnite" was ok. Randolph Stow wrote it and it was quite interesting. there were a lot of carictures like Midnite the boy who had no more parants left and decided to become a bushranger, Khat the cat who was the talking cat that incoraged Midnite to become a bushranger, Gyp the dog, Red Ned the horse, Major the clever cocatoo and Dora the very silly and iritating cow. I did like Trooper O'Grady who was pretending to be Midnite's friend but always stole from Midnite's pocket. he was always getting him in jail. I also liked when Midnite fell in love with a woman called miss Laura Wellborn but the funny thing is Midnite is only about 15 and she is a woman already.

I don't really like the fact that Midnite kept on going to jail because of O'Grady. It seemed a bit like the auther had nothing else to say and i don't like things that are SO unrealistic. I mean i like unrealistic but not this much. i also think that there is no way that a cat can want to be an angy bushranger.I think that the main idea of this story is to entertain little kids and for older kids to read when they need a break from thick books and when they want to just loosen up and have a bit of a laugh. I think that this kind of humer is not really funny and i wouldn't pick this up at the store. i would recumend this to kids the age of about 7-9. I know some people will not agree with me.

I think midnite was a brillent book. I also liked the fact that the animals do wired things. I also liked how trooper O grady was prenting to be midnites friend but then he picked his pockets. I really liked the fact that khat always helped midnite escape from jail it was very unrealistic i agree. A cat can't talk and help midnite escape.

I liked how midnite kept going to jail because it made you think about whats going to happen next.
the auther did have much to say because every time midnite went to jail something esle happed. I don't agree with you that the book is for yonger kids to read because there are really hard to understand words in there. Midnite was a very funny book i would pick it up in a store. I definatly would recoment this book.

Week Two - What type of books do you enjoy reading? Do you like funny books? Science Fiction? Scary stories? Adventure? Sad stories? Do you have a favourite book at the moment? Do you prefer to read stories where the main character is your age? Male? Female?

i like adventurous books for example at home i am reading a series called a series of unfortunet events. it is about three siblings a 14 year old girl, a 12 year old boy and a baby girl who talks her own langudge. at the begining of the book their perants died in a house fire and thier whole house was burned down. they were left with their perant's hudge fortune. they were taken to their first new home were they met a very far related uncle. he was very evil and tried to take their fortune. everywhere they go he aventually turns up there in discise but only the kids know that it is him. everywhere they go it is a new disaster. they are very clever. usually i like books that are very adventurouse and fun. i don't mind the adge of the charicturs but i like more than 1 charicture because it makes it more interesting.

I don't really mind if the character is a boy or a girl as long as it is interesting and the auther has a lot to say. I also like books that give you a break if you are reading a drematic book like i am. The types of books i like to read in between drematic books are for example: The just seiries like just discusting or just annoying and all of those. they are very silly and very funny books and i enjoy reading them when i am taking a break on my other books. I don't really mind if it is fiction of non fiction but i like the non fiction books better.

You most disliked character in a book and why.

In Man Eater ( the book i read for librery) was the snake that spraed poision into the boy's eye beacuse the whole way through the book he was complaining about his eye and then his other eye started hurting because some of the poision got into that one. it was quite irritating and it stoped all of the things around him and he kept concertrating on it. he met a boy called Olki and he kept on trying to fix it but he told him that if he didn''t go to the hospital soon then he will be blind for life. That snake made it so much more complicated and they never saw him again.

In the beginning the snake seemed nice and it was the only thing that was keeping the boy from running away from two elephants. then he spraed poision in the boy's eye and the boy's eye was stining more than anything. he kept saying that he needed to go to the hospital. But i still liked the snake a bit because you couldn't tell if he was going to hurt him or not.

Nothing worse than an irritating character. I agree with you Talia, this guys sounds like a pain in the neck! Mrs G

What has been your most favourite Justin D'Ath extreme adventure book and why
My favorite book was Man Eater. I liked it because it was very adventurous and it had so much in it. I had a good time reading it and it was like an in between book. When i say in between book i mean its a book that you read in between a book so that you can just relax with a compeatley different type of book. It wasn't what i thought it would be like but i still liked it. But the one thing that i didn't like as much was that the book just kept going on, as in it had a bit too many things going on a once. Some parts when i was reading it i got a bit lost but then i got back on track.

Right now I am reading Anaconda Ambush and it is also very interesting and good. I like the fact that Man Eater has very good words that explain a lot and they make scence. This was a very good book and it made me want to keep on reading. I was pretty sad when I finished it but i still enjoyed it a lot. I am happy that we got to read these books because i needed some books that i can read in between books. I mean come on everybody needs an in between book some time.

I did an animoto with Tamara and the book was Alice-Miranda at School. We chose this book because we both like it and we think that it would be a very good book for all ages. My favorite part was when Alice-Miranda barged into Miss Grimm's office and started to blaber on without even letting Miss Grimm talk. she didn't even notice that Miss Grimm was so shocked. it was very funny. Tamara's favorite part was when Alice-Miranda met Alethea and she damanded someone to get her some miniral water when Alice-Miranda offered Alethea some of her's, Alethea didn't want it and she screamed at Alice-Miranda to get out of her car imidiettly.
Alice-Miranda is a 7 year old girl who is in a boarding school for girls the age of 8 and up. she is the youghest girl in her school and she is extremly over-happy about everything. she has a very nice personality and whenever something goes wrong she just has to butt in and fix it. When it comes to people she is the same. She shares a room with a nice and polite girl named Millie. This book is a very exiting and fun book to read, it is for all ages and it won't dissapoint you.

I liked the song and the background because they seemed to fit in Alices personality. Also another thing is that the things you said about the book made it sound very interestingto read. Dean C
